In this section of NDW Docs you will find information about the ways in which data can be collected from NDW. This can be done via various routes:

Open Data

NDW Open Data Portal

The NDW Open Data Portal can be seen as the 'basic collection point' of NDW. Here you can consult the data of many information flows without login restrictions. The data can be downloaded/pulled from here.

NDW Open Data portal Bicycle

Open data from bicycle counts can be consulted via the NDW Open data portal Bicycle of DEXTER.

NDW-system NCIS

You can connect to some of the NDW data streams by taking out a subscription. This applies, for example, to the real-time information flows for current traffic data and situation messages from the NDW system NCIS.

Compared to purchasing via the NDW Open Data Portal, this may have the advantage that the data is sent by NCIS to the affiliated customer. can be pushed as soon as new data becomes available.

This method of collection is reserved for:

  • Government organizations (provinces, municipalities, etc.)
  • Training institutes (schools, universities, etc.)
  • Commercial parties that work on behalf of a government organization can have access for the duration of the assignment. An application for this must be submitted via a contact person at the government organization.
  • Commercial parties can have limited access to Dexter with a Data and Services agreement. For more information click here.

More information about this method of connection is included in this section of NDW Docs in the form of connection documentation. You may want to connect to an information flow for which no connection documentation is available. If you have any questions about this, please contact the NDW Service Desk for more information. The general documentation of the NCIS Web Portal can be found under manuals.
